Seattle, WA, September 19, 2024 /Fashion District NW—Suley Era/Fashion District NW & The Museum of Flight have partnered for the highly anticipated 2nd annual FASHION IN FLIGHT show, which is scheduled to take off into the flight on the runway on Saturday, November 2nd, showcasing designers from around the Northwest, representing the region’s vibrant diversity and unique talents.

This extravagant fusion of fashion and aviation promises to deliver an unforgettable experience, offering a fresh perspective on couture design and style. Set against the backdrop of historic and modern aircraft at The Museum of Flight, the event provides a dynamic and visually stunning venue that complements the innovative spirit of the show.

By hosting a fashion show in a non-traditional venue like an aviation museum, "Fashion in Flight" merges art, culture, and design, creating a platform for local talent to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship. This collaboration highlights the sleek lines, engineering, and aesthetics of aviation as inspiration for the designers, adding a unique layer of sophistication to the runway and promotes education, innovation, and a rich history of aerospace exploration.

Attendees can expect an exceptional experience where the worlds of fashion and aviation intersect and are explored in a dynamic and imaginative way, celebrating innovation and diversity within the fashion industry. "Fashion in Flight" is set to make a lasting impression on the audience, elevating the traditional runway show into a one-of-a-kind event.

On this year's journey, “Fashion in Flight” will be accompanied by a vibrant band of Northwest’s designers, who are preparing an unforgettable experience for all travelers on board at The Museum of Flight: Armoire, Kimmi Designs, Point of View Label, Sandra Froher Spirit Essence, Soul Mates Bridal, and Tinarie Creations.

ARMOIRE

Armoire is the Seattle-based, female-founded clothing rental membership that helps ambitious women love what they’re wearing. Armoire recommendations and stylist picks make it easy to refresh your wardrobe with elevated pieces in a sustainable way.

Armoire offers rental styles for every occasion, from work to weekends, with Seattle members enjoying same-day delivery or in-person shopping at the SODO boutique, with memberships starting at $89/month, including personal styling, dry cleaning, shipping, and returns.

KIMMI DESIGNS

Kimmi Designs is based in Seattle. It was born from Kim’s early passion for fashion, inspired by her grandmother who taught her to sew. After attending fashion design school, she sharpened her skills and focused on creating unique garments that tell a story.

Committed to sustainability, Kim sources reclaimed and recycled fabrics, transforming discarded materials into one-of-a-kind, wearable art.

POINT OF VIEW LABEL

Point of View (POV) is a Seattle-based fashion company on a mission to end pockets inequality in women’s clothing. Point of View has launched a movement, known as the ‘Pockets Pledge’ by creating pieces that combine designer style with the practicality of pockets.

For working women everywhere, POV aims to create a powerful form of self-presentation that helps women to show up, feel confident, and perform as their best selves at work.

SANDRA FROHER SPIRIT ESSENCE

Sandra Froher of Spirit Essence specializes in Indigenous Eco Fashion, crafting custom Courtier pieces in collaboration with nature. She forages local landscapes for organic materials, preserving plant spirits in cloth through a process of mineral baths, floral decoration, and lengthy steaming.

Advocating for slow, sustainable fashion, Sandra highlights the spiritual and healing aspects of wearing nature-infused garments, urging investment in meaningful pieces as a statement against disposable fashion.

SOUL MATES BRIDAL

Soul Mates Bridal is a unique bridal boutique located in the heart of Seattle’s Pioneer Square. Established by runway model Yuki Fan, the studio is a milestone of her lifelong dream to create a luxurious yet affordable bridal brand that exudes elegance and passion.

The boutique offers an exquisite selection of wedding dresses and evening couture for both rental and purchase, featuring exclusive designs from talented, niche designers worldwide, as well as Yuki’s own creations.

TINARIE CREATIONS

Tinarie Eans, a 5th generation artist and seamstress, was immersed in art early on. She began making her own clothes at age 12 throughout her school years and in her 20’s.

Tinarie Creations is her culminating life project. It is her goal and passion to bring the many bold and beautiful creations that live in her heart and mind’s eye into the fashion world.
