SHAUN debuted in 2010 as the keyboardist and a singer in the indie rock band The Koxx. Throughout the years, he has also worked with big-name K-pop artists such as EXO and BTS as a producer, and also been actively involved as a DJ, making appearances at major club shows and dance festivals in Korea.

In 2018 when his solo song "Way Back Home" unexpectedly topped South Korean music charts, the singer shot to fame. As of today the single is sitting on 3.4 billion streams worldwide and also received 2 remixes by Dutch DJ Sam Feldt, featuring additional vocals by British singer Connor Maynard.
In 2022, Rolling Stone India stated “Currently the most-streamed DJ in Asia, SHAUN is the artist behind the mega-hit single “Way Back Home,” streaming over 2 billion worldwide and has topped number 1 in various digital charts in Asia. The multifaceted artist is also amongst the top 10 most streamed K-Pop male artists on Spotify in 2019, 2020, and 2021.”
